NeoCHROM P.I.A.N.O chromatograph for fuel and solvent composition analysis

The NeoCHROM P.I.A.N.O system determines the component composition of petrol, diesel fuel, industrial solvents and turpentine by capillary gas chromatography. A software extension calculates additional parameters from the analytical results.

The software extension determines the sum of effective octane numbers. With concentrations taken into account, this gives a calculated research octane number. Analysis time is 60 min.

Analytical capabilities:
  • volume, mass and molar content of individual hydrocarbons and groups of normal paraffins, isoparaffins, aromatic hydrocarbons, naphthenes, olefins, oxygenates in the mass concentration range from 0.01% to 90% (corresponds to ASTM D5134, DSTU 6994 and ASTM D5580, DSTU 8997 and DSTU 2070),
  • fractional composition, represented by the temperatures of the beginning of boiling, 10%, 50%, 90% distillation and the end of boiling, in the range from 25 to 360 °C (corresponds to GOST 2177 and ASTM D86),
  • octane number according to the research method in the range from 80 to 100 units (corresponds to GOST 8226 and ASTM D2699),
  • octane number according to the motor method in the range from 70 to 90 units (corresponds to GOST 511 and ASTM D2700),
  • saturated vapor pressure corresponds to GOST 1756 and ASTM D2889, density at 20 °C in the range from 700 to 800 g/l (corresponds to GOST 3900 and ASTM D4052).
